Why This Launch Matters
This expansion marks a major step in AWS Marketplace’s global rollout, enabling a seamless, localized buying experience for software in India.
AWS’s commitment to simplifying procurement and compliance continues to raise the bar for the industry.
What’s Changing with AWS Marketplace India
With the new rollout, the process is simpler, faster, and fully compliant:
- Indian ISVs can now register their local entities in India and transact on AWS Marketplace India.
- AWS Marketplace will calculate and remit Withholding Tax (WHT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) to tax authorities, removing this burden from buyers and sellers.
- Payments and disbursements can now happen entirely in INR.
- Buyers will receive Goods & Services Tax (GST)-compliant invoices from AWS India on behalf of sellers.
