AWS Marketplace just removed one of its biggest structural constraints.
With the launch of Concurrent Agreements, buyers can now purchase the same product multiple times under separate agreements. And you can create them directly inside Labra.
What Are Concurrent Agreements?
Concurrent Agreements are a new AWS Marketplace capability that allows buyers to purchase the same product multiple times under separate agreements.
Before, AWS Marketplace permitted only one active agreement per buyer per product. Even when sellers extended a new offer for the same product, buyers were unable to accept. As a result, you had to terminate an existing agreement if they needed to add new terms or conditions.
With Concurrent Agreements, this limitation is removed. If you need to introduce new terms, such as contract units, legal terms, or rate cards, you can simply create a new agreement for the buyer to review and accept, without ending the existing one.
When This Is Most Useful
Business Units
Different departments within the same enterprise can purchase under separate agreements without impacting one another.
Add-On Modules
If you offer additional modules or components within your solution, you can create a concurrent offer to sell them independently.
Renewals and expansions
Generate a renewal or expansion agreement without terminating the active contract. Simplify lifecycle management and reduce renewal friction.
How Does This Benefit ISV Sellers?
- Buyers can subscribe to multiple agreements for the same product. Each agreement can include distinct pricing, usage limits, and legal terms.
- Every agreement is tracked independently. Clear separation removes confusion across contracts and billing records.
- Labra is fully aligned with AWS’s updated agreement and licensing model.
